Learning the Rhythm of Lent

Learning the Rhythm of Lent

Up until the last year or so, my basic understanding of Lent was that it was the 40 days before Easter where you gave up something. This Easter, I want to be informed about Lent and how to best honor the Father in this season.

Darkness//Light

I experienced breathtaking imagery of Jesus' death and resurrection a year ago at Saint Martin in the Fields at 5:15 AM. On a cold and quiet London morning, I entered a church which was in total darkness and was handed an unlit candle. As the service commenced, the Gospel unfolded beautifully through the metaphor of darkness and light.

In This Season

A few years ago, my family went on a mission trip/ holiday to England. While we were in London, we visited St. Paul's Cathedral for a choral Evensong service. I wasn't particularly excited to be there; most of it was in Latin, and the idea of going to church for fun wasn't the most thrilling concept to my mind.

Inviting Jesus Into Your Everyday

This weekend is the representation of our Savior's death and resurrection and that's something worth talking about.
