Before you register for online classes, make sure you take some time to determine if the pros outweigh the cons.
Ever wondered what it's like to be in nursing school? Personally, I am perfectly content in the History & Foreign Language Departments, but since I have several friends in nursing school, I've always been curious as to what goes on in Cockroft Hall, the building that houses the prestigious Mississippi College Nursing School. So, I talked to one such friend named Haley Hanks to learn a bit more about the lives of nursing school students. Here's the window she gave me into what it means to be in nursing school, as well as several tips for how to deal with everything that comes your way as a nursing student!
I have found that it becomes easier and easier to forget how thankful we are for the things and people in our daily lives. Of course we're thankful for our friends and family, but we don't always say that actively. The same goes for Mississippi College. I spend the majority of the year here, and I'm definitely caught in the day to day grind of classes, work, and social events. But at the Choctawk, we want to take the time to say thank you to Mississippi College. I think I speak for all of us when I say that MC has changed our lives for the better.
The time of year has arrived where we wake up at 5 AM to determine our fate next semester. Yes, scheduling has arrived, and if you're like me, the stress has already begun. I've poured over the classes offered making sure I have what I need to graduate on time. Luckily, I have some free time this semester to explore cool electives throughout different departments. So if you have a couple of slots open, here are some suggestions on how to fill them!
Preview Days fill our campus with laughter, tours, and fantastic food. Here at the Choctawk, we love Preview Days because we get to meet you guys and hear your stories. For those of you who made it to Preview Day, we hope you had a blast!
Hello to all people potentially interested in history. (Hello to everyone else too, but this is a blog about the History Department.) The History Department, like many other departments at MC, pair their content with critical thinking skills. Students study historical narratives ranging from ancient world history to Mississippi history while focusing on the disciplines of close reading and academic writing.
