Lessons from my Senior Year

Lessons from my Senior Year

Hey friends, it's Elizabeth, and welcome to the end of the school year. 'Tis the season for warm weather, bittersweet good-byes, and reflecting on how you've grown over the past year. A few days ago I met with a friend of mine, and she asked me the top three things I'd learned this year. It's actually a pretty tough question, and I'd encourage you to ask yourself and your friends. Also, since I tend to be long-winded and refuse to be constrained to three, here are seven lessons I've learned during my senior year of college.

Farewell Choctawk

Farewell Choctawk

Hello friends, it's your favorite graduating senior, Elizabeth, and I'd be lying if I said I'm excited about writing this blog.  I started working in the Tower during the fall of 2012 as a caller, and then for the past two years I've gotten to work on the blog! I've genuinely loved this job and have made some priceless memories with co-workers that have become my best friends.

Avoiding Senioritis

The funny thing about the future is, you never really know what it holds until it becomes the present. No matter how hard we pursue our dreams and goals, their outcome remains a mystery. That's the nature of the future--it is yet to come and, therefore, unknown. So, in the midst of the haze, how do you find your future?

Exploring Jackson

Exploring Jackson

Hey guys, it's Ashton and Liz, your favorite writing duo, here to share some of our favorite spots in Jackson. We came to Mississippi with no knowledge of where to escape off campus or where to shop for important necessities like shoes or sushi, but after a few years of exploring, we've discovered some fabulous places in the city that we've grown to love.

20 Things to Know Before Your 20s

20 Things to Know Before Your 20s

I'm over halfway through my 21st year of life, and yes, it's still quite weird to acknowledge that I am in my "20s." Surprisingly, living through two decades of life doesn't magically teach you maturity or time-management skills, but your 20s are a great time to learn these things! I'm not an expert yet, but I'm pretty sure your 20s some of the best and hardest years of your life. Here's a few things I wish I had known on the threshold of my teens and twenties.

7 Qualities of a Good Roommate

Deciding who will share your space for a year is a big deal. As a freshman, you can choose to be placed with a random roomie (we call that potluck) or with a friend/acquaintance. There are pros and cons to both, but whether you're living with a stranger or your bestie it's important to know how to be a good roommate. So let's talk about qualities that will make you the best roomie ever!
