Meet the Summer Staff

Meet the Summer Staff

Like most things at MC, the tower gets quieter in the summer. Most of our callers and bloggers leave for the summer to travel, work at camp, or chill at home.  A select few, though, stay in Clinton and continue to call the Tower home in the warmer months. You'll be hearing a lot from us over the next few months, so we thought a proper introduction was due. Without further ado...

Time Flies (And How to Keep Up)

Time Flies (And How to Keep Up)

I can download a song from iTunes in less than a minute. I walk across the street to the grocery store for midnight snacks. I frequent drive-thru fast-food restaurants. Events are measurable down to the minute or even second. In our culture, if we want something, there's a good chance that we can get it almost immediately. That's not always the case.

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Greetings Choctawk readers! For the past few months, I have walked up the many stairs of the tower in silence. A quiet lingered.  It was the same quiet that hung over the whole of campus.Today as I trekked up the many steps though, it was different.

Farewell Choctawk

Farewell Choctawk

Hello friends, it's your favorite graduating senior, Elizabeth, and I'd be lying if I said I'm excited about writing this blog.  I started working in the Tower during the fall of 2012 as a caller, and then for the past two years I've gotten to work on the blog! I've genuinely loved this job and have made some priceless memories with co-workers that have become my best friends.

Lessons from my Sophomore Year

Lessons from my Sophomore Year

Hey Future Choctaws! The semester is over, which means I'm halfway done with college and I'm kind of overwhelmed by that. Sophomore year has been a lot of things and I can honestly say that I didn't anticipate any of them. Here are seven (of the one million) things I've learned this year.

10 Things to Make You Happy

10 Things to Make You Happy

Today, Elizabeth and I want to be happy. The good news is that we want you to be happy too. So on this fine Friday, as finals are breathing down your neck and stress is a thing, we're here to give you ten reasons to be happy (and procrastinate a little bit more).

Chenoa: A New Tribe, A New Sisterhood

Chenoa: A New Tribe, A New Sisterhood

Hey friends! It's Ashton on the blog today to keep y'all up to date with the happenings of MC life. As you probably know, MC doesn't have fraternities and sororities, but we have a Club and Tribe system that offers students a way to be involved on campus. Today, I'm here to tell y'all about the newest tribe on campus: Chenoa.

Procrastination Techniques

Procrastination Techniques

Hello fellow students. It's Ashton here. Within the past ten minutes, I've eaten a tortilla, walked laps around the cubicles, and yelled at people from the tower window. I wish I had a logical reason for why I did those things, but I don't. We are a generation of procrastinators and while it affects our work progress and homework load, it is what it is. We are the #ProctastinationNation and as finals come around, it's the perfect time to embrace it.

Avoiding Senioritis

Avoiding Senioritis

Obviously, senioritis doesn't only exist during the last month of school. Some people develop senioritis as early as their sophomore year...or freshman year. No matter who you are, senioritis is most likely hitting you hard at this time of year, and we've got some tricks to beat it.
