Growing Pains

Growing Pains

When I turned 21, I became an official adult, but, to be honest, I didn't feel any different. The feeling of adulthood doesn't always come with birthdays. For me (and several other people), there are moments in life that force us to grow up. Here are our stories.

Life of a Theater Kid

Life of a Theater Kid

I think the phrase "theater kid" brings to mind a very particular personality for most of us. Maybe that character in your head is loud, flamboyant, & boisterous & adds a sprinkle of drama to every aspect of life. Maybe that personality is more laid back, but comes to life in big ways on stage. Regardless, that idea of a "theater kid" is a pretty basic stereotype perpetuated in chick flicks, rom coms & the like. But what about here at Mississippi College? What about the people in the plays around here?

A Day of Kindness

A Day of Kindness

In the midst of all the Valentine's Day hype - the blinding aisles of red and pink and shiny balloons - one important, albeit less flashy, day of February gets shoved to the side, but this day, too, celebrates love: love towards our fellow human beings. This Friday, February 17th, is one of the best days of the year: Random Acts of Kindness Day, and I think we would all benefit from sharing it.

The Reason for the Season: Valentine's Day & the Saint Behind It

Hearts, roses, chocolates, flowers, & everything red & pink; when I think of Valentine's Day, that's basically what comes to mind. All that & of course those massive teddy bears bigger than an NFL lineman that fill the shelves in the holiday sections of most stores. But what is this "lovey-dovey" holiday really about besides an excuse for single ladies to host a Galentine's Night or for cute couple to go on a even cuter date?
