Attention Music Lovers Everywhere: Lord Huron is a band that has been one of my go-to bands over this past year. In every season, I find a reason to go back to their album, Lonesome Dreams. There are songs like "She Lit A Fire" that are perfect for a ride down the Natchez Trace with the windows down, but there are also songs like "In The Wind" which is ironically best accompanied with a mug of coffee at home, escaping the bitter cold of a winter wind.
One of my favorite things about this band is that you can feel their emotional connection to every lyric and note. Ben Schneider and company put together a strong album that contains the themes of family and man's connection to nature. These characteristics make the music very easy to relate to.
The folk-rock vibe of the album has the ability to cross the boundaries that so often keep indie-rock from gaining mainstream popularity. Give these guys a listen; I'm sure you will find yourself going back for more.
