Hola! It's Andrew and Nolie from the tower! In the words of John Mayer, "a little bit of summer's what the whole year's all about," and so, we've compiled a list of ten fun things to do this summer!

1. Giant Bubbles

Remember when you use to think that bubbles were cool, and you giggled with delight when you chased them around. Well, guess what? Bubbles are cool. Giant ones are even cooler! Learn how to make these giant bubbles and have a blast!

2. Read

Summer time is the perfect time to go on adventures, and one one the cheapest ways to do that is to read! If you need a suggestion, check out our summer reading list

3. Road Trip

Take to the road this summer. Turn up the radio, roll down the windows, and drive around the beautiful United States! The road is your oyster!

4. Games

Let the games begin! Tennis, baseball, basketball, scrabble, cards - it doesn't matter. Get your friends and family together and have a ball!

 5. Outdoor Activities

Go outside! Fly a kite, ride a bike, take a hike, go to the pool, look at the stars, catch fireflies, build a bonfire, make s'mores. The possibilities are endless in the great outdoors!

6. Eat Summer Food

Summer brings with it some of the best food year round. Feast on some ruby red strawberries or sweetly satisfying pineapple. Stay cool with an ice lolly (popsicle), a bowl of refreshing ice cream, or a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade. Summer food really is the best food!

7. Visit Local Fun Stuff

Summer is a great opportunity to explore your city and do the fun things that you talk about doing during the school year, but never actually do. Make a checklist of cool things in your area. Here are some of The Choctawk's favorite things to do in Jackson.

8. Summer Job

Time is money, right? Take advantage of your new-found free time and hold a summer job. This is a fun way to pass the time, make a little money, and get involved around town.

9. Water Balloons

Water balloons are a fantastic way to cool off and create minor mischief. Once you finally fill up enough of these monsters, you can really cut loose and unleash on unsuspecting friends. Wait behind corners, drop them off tall things, or let them fly with a water balloon launcher.

10. Visit MC

Just because class isn't in session doesn't mean that MC shuts down. It's very easy to schedule a campus visit, and never too early to start looking at colleges. Come see what Summer Tourin' is all about!

Signing off,

Andrew and Nolie
