Intramural Sports

What it is:

The heart of intramural sports is fun. These teams are comprised of normal students who join forces for a few weeks of the year under the banner of team sports. Most of the teams have a clever team name. (My favorites have been Albino Rhinos, Bloodbath & Beyond, and Forecast Upper Nineties) No matter the sport, there is some type of playoff system that establishes a clear winner. Those champions go home with the ever-so-coveted Intramural Champion T-Shirt.

Intramural sports offer the ordinary student the opportunity to become a campus legend. It's fun to see all of your friends take the field and succeed. Some teams are there just for fun, some to win it all, some to create a dynasty. For example, this year, Tune Squad won the Flag Football Championship for the third year in a row.

What has already gone down this year:

  • Sand-Court Volleyball
  • Dodgeball
  • Flag Football

What I've played:

In the past, I've played basketball, ultimate frisbee as well as indoor and outdoor soccer. I've always played with Shawreth, which has been a lot of fun. Most of the time, we don't take the games seriously, but relish the opportunity to cut up and run around in the world of organized sports.

What we're looking forward to:

  • Indoor Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Softball
  • Outdoor Soccer

See you on the field!
