Hey! Paige here! One of my favorite things to do is to go on adventures. Fall break is the prime time to adventure. Looking for a way to spend your four day weekend? Well I am here to help you out!

If you are like me, you haven't gotten a chance to go home in a long time. There are lots of fun things to do at MC on the weekends, but sometimes you just need to sleep in your own bed and spend quality time with your family.

If you aren't going home, a good way to spend your fall break is to use this time to explore the surrounding area. Whether it's a trip to the Vicksburg National Military Park or just going to see a movie at the Tinseltown in Pearl, visit somewhere you have never been before. Some really interesting things to do in the area are getting milkshakes at Brent's in Fondren, going to the Jackson Zoo, or just hanging out at the Reservoir. If you want to stay in Clinton, the Nature Center and all of the shops on Brick Street are great places to wander.

Guess what? The State Fair starts this weekend. Spending your time in the sun and riding rides is a great day adventure. Corey Smith is going to be at the State Fair on October 12 at 7:30 A.M. You can also check out the cow, sheep, swine, and horse barns and shows. Fun fact: I used to show cows. I've provided a picture. You're welcome.

This was me at my first cow show. I was 8 years old, and yes the cow has back legs.

Who does not like road trips? Driving all day with the windows down and listening to music with your close friends sounds like a great fall break to me. Some road trip destinations that are a few hours away are Memphis, Birmingham, and Biloxi. If you want to go a little further out of the way, you can go to Florida or Kentucky. Pick a state, any state and just go. The plans can change as you go along. You could choose multiple locations and just jump around, or you could even just go to New Orleans for a day and explore the French Quarter and get a beignet.

Concerts are a fun way to spend a fall night. Duling Hall is a concert venue in Fondren. Some concerts coming up at Duling are Chris Robinson Brotherhood at 9:00 P.M. on October 9 and Lake Street Dive at 7:30 P.M. on October 13. An event in the Jackson area is Pink the Runway Fashion Show Benefiting American Cancer Society at Thalia Mara Hall at 6:00 P.M. on October 11.

What better way to spend your free time than to give back to the community? Whether it is visiting a nursing home or an animal shelter or helping with an event, volunteering is a great way to serve God by serving others. The Methodist Children's Home is having a fall rummage sale on October 10 that you could help prepare for if you get in touch with them. Lots of organizations like clubs and tribes require service hours and usually have a list of service opportunities available to you.

Maybe you would like to just spend your break just relaxing. Reading a good book, having a movie marathon, or binge watching your favorite T.V. series can be very fulfilling. If your schedule is anything like mine, you don't get to do those things that often and spending your time doing absolutely nothing productive could be a great way to unwind and refocus on life. If you want to read a great book that is productive, I recommend the Bible. A great way to utilize your time wisely is to ask God to pour into you and to really seek Him.

Whatever adventure may look like to you, I assure you it is out there. Whether your adventure is reading a book, going to a concert, or going on a roadtrip, get out there and seize the day. Use fall break as a time to revitalize your spirit and renew your mind no matter what you are doing.
