Hey there, Sports Fans! It's Andrew here with a quick blog about the MC Men's Basketball team.
I have thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with the team this year. Last semester, I was in small group at church with Jay and Jared Case, and I live on the same hall as Tory Rice and Johnny Rucker, so it has been fun to get to watch guys that I know personally throw down in the Dome.
Legendary basketball coach, Bobby Knight once said, "You don't play against opponents, you play against the game of basketball."
The MC Basketball team has experienced that reality this season. As you know, the Choctaws have returned to Division 2 . The basketball team has met this transition with a drive for success and has played competitively in conference play.
While there has certainly been adversity to overcome this season, one can see that the team has grown to work as a cohesive unit. The team has played with heart and determination and showed particular strength on the road over Winter Break.
The Choctaws have reestablished themselves as contenders in the GSC and have paved a foundation to build upon in future seasons. Aristotle once said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit." The MC Basketball team has begun to form these habits in this return season to Division 2 basketball.
