'Twas the day before Christmas, when all through the home
every creature was stirring and baking sweet scones.
The oven was set and the timer was turning
to ensure that cookies would not be burning.

Nolie here! There is nothing like a good poem. It's almost as wonderful as a delicious baked good! There truly is nothing better than baking to get you pumped for Christmas! I love baking! It smells good! The end product tastes good! The actual process is fun! What's not to love?

Well in the spirit of Christmas, I am going to share my five favorite festive baking recipes!

 1. Apple Dumplings

Apples, cinnamon, flaky crescent roles smothered in a citrusy sauce, a.k.a. ingredients that inspire culinary dreams! My mom makes these, and I promise they are mouthwateringly delicious!

2. The Classic Sugar Cookie

Sugar cookies are the definition of Christmas baking! Get your family together and have a cookie decorating contest!

3. Peppermint Brownies

Do boring sugar cookies make you yawn? Is your inner chocoholic disappointed when your sweets don't contain your favorite ingredient? Well you can still be quintessentially Christmas with these mouthwatering Peppermint Brownies!

4. Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring

This is perfect for a quick and delicious Christmas morning breakfast. I make this the night before and then pop it into the oven while we open presents!

5. Chess Squares

I don't know if this is a Christmas food, but it sure is delicious! Plus your kitchen will smell like buttery and sugary goodness, so get out your oven mitts!

I hope your stomach is growling, because mine is. Get your oven mitts! Preheat! And bake, bake, bake!

Wishing a Happy Christmas to all and to all a good cake,

Nolie
