Some bands are good so you listen to them and watch their videos. Bon Iver is one of those bands. I’ve been listening to them regularly for the past two years. Their latest album, which is actually also titled Bon Iver, is incredible. The first time I listened to it I was captivated. It is an amazing mix of lead singer Justin Vernon’s awesome falsetto collaborating with a super talented seven man band accompanying him. Every year MC has an event called Choctaw Fest where several up and coming bands spend the evening entertaining MC students. Last year, Ben Rector was one of the artists that played. At that point in time, I had no clue who he was. I remember listening to him, but not really thinking that it was something I would listen to regularly. Fast forward a year. A buddy of mine let me borrow his latest CD, and I can’t put it down. It’s all I’ve been listening to for a couple weeks. Here’s one of my favorite songs off of the album. -Chase
